背景介绍(Background)：

PDGF is a multi-functional cell growth factor, which is divided into AA / AB / BB three physiological active forms. PDFG plays an essential role in the regulation of embryonic development, cell proliferation, cell migration, survival and chemotaxis. Potent mitogen for cells of mesenchymal origin (PubMed:26599395). Required for normal proliferation and recruitment of pericytes and vascular smooth muscle cells in the central nervous system, skin, lung, heart and placenta. Required for normal blood vessel development, and for normal development of kidney glomeruli.

 

PDGF, a heat-steady, positively charged protein, is engendered by osteoblasts, platelets and monocytes/macrophages. PDGF is divided into AA / AB / BB three physiological active forms. The PDGF-BB dimer – the mostly investigated isoform – is the only one that can bind to all three different surface PDGF receptors (PDGFRs) and trigger different signalling cascades, thus being called the universal isoform of PDGF. PDGF-BB has been accepted as a chief mediator in wound healing and tissue repair. PDGF-BB is well known for its mediate angiogenic function via its furtherance of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) secretion, and it also plays a significant part in keeping the stability of newly shaped blood vessels. PDGF-BB can facilitate the osteogenous differentiation of bone marrow stem cells (BMSCs) and has been diffusely applied in bone regeneration. More significantly, PDGF-BB is also a crucial chemo-attractive agent for mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). When stimulated with PDGF-BB, the PDGF receptors touch with a quantity of signaling molecules, some of the induced signalling pathways include Ras-MAPK, phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K), phospholipase C gamma (PLCγ) and Janus kinase (JAK), which are involved in several cellular and developmental processes.
